A heart similar to the Lord’s

In the prayer of the rosary, in every mystery, I have the custom to pray this little prayer: “Jesus, meek and humble of heart, make my heart like unto you.” Praying this ejaculation, I began to reflect on the importance of what we ask for: a heart similar to the Lord’s. We can not deceive ourselves with a wonderful prayer life, but in practice it does not resemble Jesus’ way of being. You have asked yourself these questions: “Does my heart know Jesus? Is it becoming, day by day, more like the heart of Jesus, who is meek, humble, prayerful and untiring in seeking the Kingdom of the Father? Do I have love for Jesus and do I have ardor for souls? ” This is especially necessary for those who already have years of walking in the Lord. Look at what happened to Peter: he knew Jesus as many others, but he assumed and proclaimed him as the Son of God the Savior only by the action of the Holy Spirit. Only in the Father do we know the Son’s heart, and we are resembling Him. The closer we are to the Son, the more intimate the Father will be, for the Holy Spirit shows us that the discussions are not fruitful: it is the action of the Father that guides us to Him in whom the fullness of revelation is offered.
