It happened on November 2, 1971, at the beginning of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal. I was not a very distinguished priest among my colleagues. I began to learn to play guitar in Theology and even stood out a little, but I was an ordinary priest.
We had, in the city of Lorena (SP), a good group of young people, many young people, not only from Lorena, but from other dioceses, who also participated in this group. I felt that this group did not have much action, so I invited Father Irineu to preach and set fire to those young people.

I could not stand to stay until the end of the talk. I went to the chapel and told the Lord I did not know what was going on, but I was asking Him: “Give me!”
“The Holy Spirit will come upon you and give you strength” (Acts 1, 8). The Holy Spirit fell upon me! God came to my aid, gave me dynamo. I was no longer the same priest, I was active. Two things happened: I was set on fire by the Spirit, then I “burned” the others and they “burned down” the whole wheat field.
Let us ask today again: “Lord give me your Holy Spirit!”
