Thowing out the ‘Trash’ Caused by Lack of Forgiveness

For many of us, it is difficult to forgive, because this implies touching the wounds and stirring in painful situations, implying opening the heart and restirring in the “trash” of our life. It would be easier to leave all this alone! But imagine keeping a full garbage can for a month inside of the house?! No one would tolerate the bad odor and the contamination. The same applies to our spiritual life. Throwing out the “trash” caused by lack of forgiveness means putting them at the feet of the cross of Christ, in order that they may be consumed. The place for this trash is not in our heart, it is at the feet of the cross of Jesus Christ!

This invitation to forgiveness is not an imposition. You could say: “Beyond all that I already experienced, still I am obliged to forgive?” God wants to give you the grace of taking from your heart all that is tainted. Remember: God is love! We are the image and likeness of Him, therefore, inside of us only should be good sentiments such as love and that which helps us to love. That which is contrary to love is toxic and poisonous. For we are made to love, not for resentment, hatred, sorrow, sin and that lack of forgiveness.

Therefore, it is necessary to live love in fullness. And to live it, I need to have faith and confidence in God. Ask this grace from the Holy Spirit.

God Bless You,
