Suffering for God?

St. Paul said to the Philippians that to us is given the grace of not only believing in Christ but also suffering for Him.

Here is speaking of Christian suffering. What suffering is this? It is that in which just for being a follower of Christ, one seeks to unite himself to Him and to His cross and to give himself to Him, hoping, forgiving and giving his life. Even to die!

In the foundation of this suffering is, it is clear, the personal encounter with Jesus Christ, God crucified for us! Without this encounter it is impossible to understand the suffering!
