Be Small Servers Like Jesus, Bishops Asks New Priests

The excellence of the priestly ministry is being a small server like Jesus. Who should appear is Christ, not the Father

The Center for Evangelization Dom João Hipólito de Moraes was too small to house the happiness, enthusiasm, excitement and gratitude of nine deacons of the Canção Nova Community, receiving the sacrament of holy orders on the afternoon of Sunday, 19,  by the imposition of hands the Bishop of Lorena (SP), Dom João Inácio Müller, at the headquarters of the community in Cachoeira Paulista (SP).

Addressing the deacons receiving the order of priesthood: Bruno Franco (30), Clayton Luiz (32), Edmilson Dias (30), Evandro Lima (47), Fabiano Albuquerque (29), Fábio Camargos (29), Gevanildo Torres (30) Felix Renan (30) and Sandro Magellan (33); Bishop Müller did not spare words to show young people the responsibility that accompanies the priestly vocation, reminding them that vocation initiative is from the Lord.

The prelate stressed that, in the priestly ministry, who should appear is Christ, not the Father. “The priest consists living in favor of others.” Bishop João also asked those promoted to the order of the priesthood that they live ministry with joy and conviction, “as those who live within the Word, you must bring the Word within, as children of the Word. Live that which you will celebrate.” He stressed.

During his homily, Bishop João quoted the Gospel of the day , explaining that everything is of God, because God gives everything to everyone so that all may have life in abundance. The bishop also addressed the participant couples on the retreat for Families stressing that humanity was made to infinity, and the couple must help each other to be led to God. “Your house should sanctify your partner to take you to God.” Don John also recalled the World Mission Day clamoring intercession of Saint Teresa.

 

After the homily, followed the rite of ordination, at which time the deacons received the imposition of hands of the bishop, the sacrament of order.

At the time of thanksgiving Fr. Edmilson the new priest spoke on behalf of his brother priests, he thanked God saying they want to imitate Jesus the Good Shepherd, doing everything for everyone. Gave thanks to the Virgin Mary, whom we trust will lead them in the priestly mission, also thanked the saints and devotion to family who celebrate amid tears, this great celebration. They also expressed their gratitude to the Canção Nova Community, teachers, employees of the John Paul II Foundation (FJPII) and to all who were part of their lives, beyond the bishop, priests, deacons and seminarians present.
