We Are Called to be Instruments in the Hand of God

The meditated Word today is in 2 Timothy 2.20 to 24 :

The Word of God tells us about “home” not only our physical home, the place where we live, but also our working environment, the people around us. Like it or not, we live in community, because we live with people, whether they are inside our home or in the workplace.

In our personal interaction each has a function, each has his/her importance. In a family there are different people, different functions, but all are done. Each is indispensable in what he or she does.

The Word tells us about “cleanliness”, and inside our house there are also the “clean” and “dirty”.Inside a house there is always the one who prays more, seeking more intimacy with the Lord. God created us and knows us, knows the way we are in and out of our house. He does not condemn one who is not pure, but states that the pure will be an instrument in the hands of the Lord.

The more purified we are, the more the Lord will use us in the reality in which we live. The Father wants to use us through our words, our smile and hug. How will we be purified for the Lord to use us? Some steps must follow:

– Escape the passions of youth: Prostitution, unregulated sexuality and the diversion of sexuality have disfigured the youth. Youth have their own passions, but with the help of the Holy Spirit they can get control them.

– Search justice: be fair in everything and with everyone. He that is righteous appreciates the work of another. Always seek justice.

– Search the faith, love, peace: Let us truly live faith, love and peace. Let there be no strife between people. Do not nourish resentment or hatred.

– Avoid foolish and unreasonable discussions: How many times do we get into silly situations that start small and become something huge! Let us flee to silly arguments and unsubstantiated.

Let us not waste the chance to learn from the other. We too, teach those who are around us. As for the opponents, there will always be people like that in our house and our life; however, we have wisdom to instruct them gently. God wants to guide us, so that we can guide people.

God wants to do a great work in our families, and wants to start with our heart. Let us be used by God and let us flee from all that distances us from Him. Seek peace, faith and love at all times .

We are a useful vessel to the Lord. We have a key role in God’s hands; regardless of who mingles with us, we all have a role and we complement each other.
