We are in the time of “apostasy, in which many people are denying the faith
We are in time of the false prophets. It is the time of “apostasy, where many people are renouncing their faith. Apostasy is like a disease: a person can not imagine he may be infected; only later does he realize that is already without organic defense. It is painful to see, but the truth is this: the people of God, “the wife of the Church,” is without defense. False prophets charge with fury against the Church of God and have achieved results. It happens today and that Jesus himself experienced it:
“Seeing the crowds, he looked with compassion on them, because they were exhausted and were like sheep without a shepherd” (Mt 9:36).
The Prophet John the Baptist, the friend of the Bridegroom, who prepared His first coming, gives us the solution to today’s times: penance and conversion in Mark 1.
