Let Us Continue to Walk with God

Father John Mark Polak’s Message in “Sorrindo Pra Vida” [“Smiling for Life”] program, on Canção Nova TV.

The meditated Word today is St. Mark from 10:32 to 34:
“They were on the way, going up to Jerusalem, and Jesus went ahead of them. They were amazed, and those who followed were afraid. Taking the Twelve aside again, he began to tell them what was going to happen to him “Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be handed over to the chief priests and the scribes, and they will condemn him to death and hand him over to the Gentiles. who will mock him, spit upon him, scourge him, and put him to death, but after three days he will rise.” NAB

Jesus always is on the way and He always comes to us. He went with his disciples to Jerusalem to live His passion and death, because the time had come. The Lord knew what awaited in that city, but was not afraid to face his sufferings.

We are on the way to New Jerusalem and we can not give up our walk even the challenges we encounter along the way. The invitation that Jesus gives us is that we take a new and true attitude of Christians, because we live in a society that has instructed us to be “Christians light .”

Experience the love of God, the security of being with him, but when we are surprised by the tribulations, we are afraid. Jesus teaches us not to stop in our difficulties, but trust the Lord to strengthen us.

We must trust in God, in His Word, in the Church that instructs us. In this time of Lent, we are coming up with Jesus to Jerusalem. He was tempted for 40 days, as we will be tempted by the enemy of God. The invitation to this liturgical season is that we fix our life and live the expectation of the Lord’s Resurrection.

Resurrect with Christ. And those who are spiritually dead and need to rise with Christ! Let us not wait for something to happen to be happy, but let us assume in today in our history the attitude of men and women of God, who take possession of His Word and live in happiness.

Even afraid we must keep walking. The disciples were amazed, but continued their walk with Christ. The path that the Lord teaches us is the ascent. He will not abandon us in the way, he will go with us to the end of the walk.
