Being a mother is a gift from God, who gives himself to another in a gratuitous love without expecting retribution. Mother generates life and gives life to the children, being responsible for their growth. It is a free commitment to serve all the time and is always attentive to your every need.
Motherhood and fatherhood are also spiritual gifts from God, who calls us to bear children for the Kingdom of Heaven. We must be like Mary, who assumed the disciples so that they could continue on the path of the Lord.
“Jesus, seeing his mother, and beside her the disciple he loved, he saith to his mother: ‘Woman, behold your son!’ Then he said to the disciple, ‘Behold your mother!’ “(John 19.26 to 27).
Let us ask the Lord for the grace to be reflections of His love, like the Virgin Mary, being strong, dignified, simple, cheerful, dedicated and always doing good to all.
