Dear brothers, On Brazil’s Independence Day, we celebrate the cry of Dom Pedro: “Independence or death!”

Jesus Christ also gave us independence when, on being crucified, he said: “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do. ” As Christians, we need to celebrate God’s grace to be free in Christ. Even if the bonds of this world bind us, Jesus has set us free. He died for me, Jesus fought for me, and I will be faithful to Him until the end. I see that many give their lives for their country. We too, as the army of Christ, must give our lives for the one who gave his life for us first. My brothers, on this special day, let us pray for our country, for fatherland. May God enlighten our nation!
