In this preaching we will reflect on the Word of God in the book of Genesis 12: 4ff. From Abraham, God wanted a different people and His desire is to be exclusive, that is, to be holy.

The people, distancing themselves from God,become contaminated by other things. The Lord asks us to be holy. For this, we must observe the commandments to live a life that pleases the heart of God.

We must choose whom we want to serve, for God has given us the freedom to worship other gods, but we must choose to follow the Lord insistently.

The combatant can not leave aside his life of sanctity, because it is his greatest weapon in the face of battle. For us, who we consider to be combatants and intercessors, we can not compromise with things that keep us from God. For, people need to look at us and see holiness.

Holiness is a response to the love of God! Therefore, if we feel loved by Him, we can only feel that we are holy. The turning away from God comes from sin, whether venial or mortal, because it takes us out of fellowship with God.

Intercessor fighter in holiness

We are fighters who desire holiness. So we must cultivate and preserve by this life of union with Him. Let us be whole in the presence of God and for that to happen, we must strive to reach the heart of God and live holiness .

Fighters and intercessors need to be men and women of confession . If we do not confess and are in mortal sin, we are not in communion with God.

Holiness is something very concrete. Pope Francis tells us: “How can we live holiness day by day?Do not gossip, patiently listen to the problems of your children, father and mother; pray; go to mass on Sundays. Small things are small steps towards holiness, for every step toward holiness will make us a free person, less selfish and less closed in on ourself. “

It is possible to take a different path and live a sober way day by day. Being patient, stopping to listen and anticipating things. Do things for Jesus’ sake and not because you have to do it, for that is the holiness that God is asking for.

Raise your arms to the Lord and ask for the grace of God. May the Holy Spirit bring holiness into your heart through the small things of everyday life.

We need to seek the power from on high to form in us the holiness according to the heart of God. For our soul thirsts for God.
