Suffer=Endure

Suffer in English is also a word that means endure.

It makes it easy to understand the verse from Sirach “Suffer the delays of God” (Sirach 2:3) for suffer here signifies to endure, remain firm in the days of God. Do not allow ourselves to become discouraged with the delays of God in the resolution of something, perhaps problems.

As Judith says 8:26 “Let us not become irritated for what we suffer.”

We endure with faith what we live, awaiting the moment of God for us and in us.
