With the arrival of the holiday, many parents are unsure of what to do with the kids
Rest, get out of the routine, have fun and have fewer responsibilities. That’s what children expect of school holidays. But parents know that it’s not so easy to administer the accumulated energy of children and still be able to take advantage of this period along with them, as many parents do not schedule their vacation to the same vacation time for their children.
It’s crazy to administer this time, because the children are filled with energy, they want mom and dad, but parents remain on pace, working. So, breaking the routine of the House. Kids want attention.
My kids are like that. They want to talk eye to eye, they want to walk, and this is a matter with which we have to take special care. Any tour, today, as a cinema is a mall, for example, has spent on the movie, with the popcorn and other “things” they always ask. So, in this month of vacation, we have to be attentive to the family budget; see how it does not create a “shock” and thus prepare themselves for this. They can also opt for a bicycle ride. They love it!
My kids love riding. And as my husband likes it too much, we have the opportunity to do this near where we live. At the very end of the evening or on Saturday morning, they ride. My husband uses the buggy – from a farm near my house – and all the kids in the neighborhood will walk. For them, it’s all good! Get out in the yard, playing soccer …That’s what they want.
Be flexible with the rules
In my house, for example, even during the holidays, we have rules, and my children know that they are very well defined. They are very simple things, such as the question of boundaries. If I say, for example, a half an hour of video games, it is a half-hour of video game it is. Even if it’s vacation time. My kids have time to sleep, but during the holidays, I extend a little more this time. There are, however, other ground rules. If they want to go to a friend’s House, you can go, but how long it will stay there? In the House of which friend are you going? How are his parents? These questions are asked and need to be answered.
Another option is go to Grandma’s House. When they are there, it is Grandma’s and she has her rules.
Some schools offer activities during the holidays. I find that interesting, since it is only during the day, so that the child does not get bored and create the impression that he’s going to school to study. We did a very interesting option, because we have a neighborhood with several children in the same age group. Then, we choose a person and we reward for that afternoon, she ride with the little ones and make up games for them. So, we’re not going to have a very large expense, because we come together, we make a “box” [come together to share money] and choose someone we trust.
It is a challenge, but I never tell my kids to give me work, because it is very enjoyable to be with them. They make my life so much better, my quality of life is high “to the tenth power” with them. It is also a challenge, because the mother has to balance the care of the House, with the children and with the work. It’s gymnastics in a sense, but it is possible. If you only have half an hour, but entirely with your kids, this time is enough.
I chose the wrong profession or college. And now what?
Many parents and children dream for a long time about a determined profession and channel all their efforts and resources for the realization of this dream. There is a moment of celebration when they carry out such a project. But it can turn into a nightmare, because the work chosen does not bring happiness.

People get up and go to the job as if they are going to prison. However, the responsibility for survival weighs heavily, and the decision of a change of profession or employment is always postponed.
Dismay at work
They start Monday tired, go crawling to work every day. They don’t see any sense in what they do, among others, are symptoms of unhappiness with their career. Right now, it’s time to evaluate the whys of dissatisfaction. Some reasons may be worked out and the person may remain in the profession, others show that we must change course.
The first step is to seek self-knowledge, find out what you like and what you don’t like, their potentialities and limitations. Many hobbies can be transformed into successful careers.
Another discovery that needs to be asked is if the person wants to change jobs or try a second career option. An alert: many times, this isn’t about dissatisfaction with the profession, but with his personal life.Without that knowledge, career changes and dissatisfaction continues.
Another important item, in decision-making, is researching information of the market, the niches that can be occupied and the demands to be met, because it is not enough just do what you love, if it does not guarantee the needs for family survival. In this case, solving a personal problem creates another family problem.
There are changes in the route and change of route when you decide for the second option. Search and enjoy the experience that can help in the new career, start a new school, that can open new markets and or discover the entrepreneur in you and start your own business.
Companies specializing in human resources suggest some tips for the ripening of the decision: stay calm, assess their capacity and check the branches that allow you to look at other areas that attract you, check the new professions in the market that are in line with your personal and professional profile and cross this data with the market reality. You need to prepare your heart for the barriers that must be overcome. Feel motivated while walking, because it’s the desire that takes us to where we aim. Above all, learn to be happy with your decision, because it’s never too late to change careers.
Since life is a cycle, at some point we no longer have the presence of our mother with us
Mother, a little word of immense significance in the life of each of us. One with whom we spend nine months of pregnancy. Even more: before pregnancy gestation in the womb – for biological mothers – there is gestation in the soul, the desires and expectations of the maternal experience for adoptive mothers. Our role as children concretize in this realization of dreams of maternity. .

In the cycle of life, we have the grace to live with a woman who gives her life for us every day. Each gesture of love, that affectionate look, or even the harsh attitudes and words that hurt, want, basically, guide us in the certainty that maternal presence is very important in the life of each of us.
Not always is our experience was positive or will be with our mother, but above all, it behooves us to exercise forgiveness and overcoming those difficult times.
Since life is a cycle, at some point we will not have her presence with us. Reports of lost mothers are as varied as possible, “How I miss you!” “she died after I left to do something for her, I feel guilty for her death,” “I can not live without her.” In a life cycle, we know in Western culture, we celebrate births, but we still have a hard time dealing with death; it is different from Eastern cultures. Does this sense, do we need to review in the way we relate to our mothers?
Losses in most cases, are not explained. When we seek this explanation too, we put ourselves in a dead labyrinth. This is where the acceptance of loss, which is something gradual, should be drawn up with the help of a support network of friends or family; if necessary, with professional help in therapy.
The blame for not having said something in time, to have had harsh attitudes, finally, the general fault, if any, should be mature, rethought for the loss process is best experienced.
Of course, this pain does not pass quickly, but the pain we lived longing; better than that, we lived memories, positive legacies left by this mom, good examples and also forgiveness for what we do not live in a pleasant way with her.
Another important point is that each one feels the pain in his own way. Phrases like: “Do not be like that,” “Your mother would not want to see you like that” and many other phrases may even have a positive intention, but we must understand the period each person has to live the loss in their own way.
After the initial moment of confusion by the loss, the following steps will give us a better understanding of what happened, a reorganization of life without the loved one (especially when we are very dependent on the mother for everything. There, it is a position our over life, to create autonomy and freedom for such loss is not as sharp). During this reorganization phase, there may appear again feelings of anger and incomprehension, until a later date, the acceptance to a new life is present effectively.
The pain of loss will not change;it is forever, but what will change in us is the intensity as well as our sense of loss and feelings we carry with us in this new moment of life and its cycle is renewed.
It often arises, at Easter time, some “expert” writes denying the Resurrection of Jesus and posing it as “a fraud” of the apostles and the Church. Unfortunately, those who do not know the background to Catholic doctrine are no longer offended by such lies. So let’s meditate on the highest point of our faith.
First of all, it was Jesus himself who assured that he would rise; something that the apostles paid dearly with their lives to believe.
Those who crucified Jesus were to say to Pilate: “And they said unto him, Sir, we remember that that deceiver said, while living: After three days I will rise. (Mt 27, 63). “ “From that time Jesus began to show his disciples that he must go to Jerusalem and suffer many things from the elders and chief priests and scribes; would be killed, and rise the third day “(Mt 16,21).
The Resurrection of Jesus is an undeniable historical fact. The first event of Easter Sunday morning was the “discovery of the empty tomb” (Mk 16.1 to 8). It was the basis of all the action and preaching of the apostles and was very well recorded by them. St. John says: “What we saw, heard and touched with our hands that we certify” (1 John 1.1-2).
The risen Jesus appeared to Mary Magdalene (John 20.19 to 23); the disciples of Emmaus (Lk 24.13 to 25), to the Apostles in the Upper Room, with Thomas absent (John 20.19 to 23); and then, with this Thomas (John 20.24 to 29); on Lake of Gennesaret (Jn 21.1 to 24); on Mount in Galilee (Mt 28.16 to 20); according to St. Paul “he appeared to more than 500 people” (1 Cor 15.6) and that Christ died for our sins […] and that he was buried, and rose again the third day according to the Scriptures, and was seen by Khefas, and then the Eleven; then was seen by over five hundred brethren at once, of which most live today and some have fallen asleep; then he appeared to James, then by all the apostles; and, finally, after all was also seen by me as an abortion “(1 Cor 15: 3-8).
“God has raised this Jesus, and to this we are all witnesses” (Acts 2, 32), said St. Peter at Pentecost. “Know for sure the whole House of Israel, God made Lord (Kýrios) and Christ, this Jesus whom you crucified” (Acts 2: 36). “Christ died and lived to be the Lord of the dead and the living” (Romans 14: 9). In Revelation, John concludes: “I am the First and the Last, the Living One; I was dead, and behold I am alive forevermore, and I have the keys of Death and the dead area “(Rev 1: 17s).
The first experience of the apostles with the risen Jesus was remarkable and unforgettable: “Jesus stood in the midst of the apostles and said,” Peace be with you”. Taken with awe and fear they thought they were seeing a spirit!. But he said: “Why are you troubled, and why such doubts arise in your hearts? Look at my hands and my feet, it is I! “Touch me and understand that a spirit does not have flesh and bones, as you see I have”. Saying this, he showed them his hands and feet. And because, for joy, they could not believe they still remained surprised and He said to them, “You have something to eat?”. They showed him a piece of broiled fish. Then he took it and ate it before them “(Lk 24, 34ss).
The frightened apostles, thought they saw a ghost. Jesus asks that they touch him and find that has flesh and bones. None of this was a hallucination or illusion or delusion, nor lie, nor fraud of the Apostles, because it was realistic that many people at first even doubted the Resurrection of the Master.. . Christ himself had to talk to Thomas, “Touch me and see: ghosts do not have flesh and bones as ye see me have” (Luke 24.39). The Emmaus disciples were disappointed because “we had hoped that he who would restore Israel” (Lk 24: 21). None of them believed in the Resurrection … until they saw the Lord.
These “first time” testimonials, designed and transmitted by immediate disciples of the Lord, are sufficient arguments to dissolve any theory that wants to deny the bodily resurrection of Christ. This faith did not come “later”, as some in the history of the early Christian communities, but is the result of Christ’s mission accompanied daily by the Apostles.
The rulers of the Jews became aware of the significance of the Resurrection of Jesus, and therefore decided to dispel it: “They gave soldiers a large sum of money, recommending:” Say that his disciples came by night, while slumbered, and stole the dead body of Jesus. If it reach the ears of the Governor, we convince, and leave you without complication. “ They took the money and acted in accordance with instructions received. And this story has spread among the Jews until this day “(Mt 28: 12-15).
And Jesus really died, including being pierced in the side by the spear of the soldier. It is a ridiculous theory that Jesus was just “sleeping” on the Cross. The Apostles could only believe in the Resurrection of Jesus by the evidence of the facts as they were not inclined to admit it; on the contrary, they lost all courage when they saw the imprisoned and condemned Master; also for them the resurrection was a scandal. They had no psychological dispositions to “invent” the news of the resurrection of Jesus or to forge such an event.
They were still impregnated with the conceptions of a nationalist and political messianism, and fell when they saw the apparently failed and arrested Master. They fled to avoid arrest themselves (cf. Mt 26: 31s); Peter denied the Lord (cf. Mt 26: 33-35). The concept of a God who died and rose again in human flesh was totally alien to the mentality of the Jews.
It is further noted that the preaching of the Apostles was tightly controlled by the Jews, so that if any of them would lie , they immediately would be denounced by members of the Sanhedrin. If the resurrection of Jesus, preached by the Apostles was not real, it was fraud, the Jews would have discovered it, but they could never do it. The twenty long centuries of Christianity, full of success and glory, were based on the truth of the Resurrection of Jesus. Affirming that Christianity was born and raised on a lie and fraud would assume a miracle even greater than the actual Resurrection of the Lord.
On behalf of a “fantasy”, a mirage, will thousands of faithful face death in the face of Roman persecution, as they face today before the Islamic State? Of course not.
On behalf of a myth, would crowds go to the desert to live a life of penance and prayer? The testimony of the Apostles about the Resurrection of Jesus was convincing. Building Christianity requires a more solid foundation than fraud or mental weakness. Thus, it is much more logical to believe in the Resurrection of Jesus than to explain the power of Christianity by a fantasy of dishonest or hallucinating people.
The Resurrection of Jesus is central point of the Christian faith, so that St. Paul says: “If Christ has not been raised, our preaching is empty; empty is also your faith … If Christ be not raised, your faith is empty; ye are yet in your sins “(1 Cor 15, 14:17). The Resurrection of Jesus is the basis of faith; St. Paul calls Christ resurrected “the firstborn from the dead” (Col 1: 18). To him, resurrected first, then will be the resurrection of the brethren: “Each one in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ’s at the time of his second coming; then there will be the end”(1 Cor 15: 23ff).
by Fr. Robert J Carr When you read the bible carefully, you discover a kind of a spiritual legal system applying to all creation. It is this legal system under which Christ died that that all might be saved. The law applies with mercy in the Kingdom of God and with tyranny outside that kingdom.
The system of the world, with all its principalities and powers, is where the law is strict and merciless. There is no salvation and nothing but condemnation for any infraction against the law. Dante described such a system as without hope.
Look at it this way, you could be the best person in the world, but that is not going to prevent the laws of physics from applying to you. If you lean too far out a ten story window, you will die. There is no recourse and no exception. The laws of physics are as hard as the ground upon which you landed.
The spiritual laws of the world’s principalities and powers are similar. You can be a nice person, but if you violate one law, then you are as guilty as if you violated ten. There is no mercy or exception. The law says eternal death and you suffer eternal death in the devil’s realm which is Hell.
However, I said there is the alternative, the Kingdom of God. There law has a just judge who is the Father and in Him there is an exception for mercy. If you are in the Kingdom of God, Jesus, the Son, paid the penalty for you by his death and resurrection. The tyrannical dictator, who is the devil, has no authority over you and you have as your arbiter the merciful God.
Now, we always have a choice over which realm we enjoy. If we seek to be part of the Kingdom of God through our life in Christ, then we become subject to Our Lord’s justice, love and mercy. If we reject the Kingdom of God by choosing to reject Christ and His way of life, then we fall under the authority of the principalities and powers which follow the letter of the law, mercilessly.
An example to illustrate this:
Many years ago, I played a form of computer scored bowling. This was not a video game, but a bowling alley where a computerized system counted the pins and enforced the rules. There was no mercy, if you stepped one millimeter over the foul line, your score for that ball was zero. You did not throw a strike, even though you knocked down all the pins with your first ball. But in human scored bowling there is no computer. You can accidentally step a millimeter over the foul line and your score still counts, as long as no one calls you on it. One side has no give for the reality of humanity and the other does.
This is similar to the two systems. If you reject God, then you fall under the tyrannical system of the world. There is no mercy for any infraction and there is zero tolerance for each one. However, if you are in the Kingdom of God, there is forgiveness for the repentant sinners who choose to be subjects in that kingdom. Further, because your citizenship is in Heaven the principalities and powers have no authority over you.
This is the powerful meaning of the words of St. Paul to the Colossians and to the Romans regarding the legal system as it applies to world and the Kingdom of God.
And even when you were dead [in] transgressions and the uncircumcision of your flesh, he brought you to life along with him, having forgiven us all our transgressions; obliterating the bond against us, with its legal claims, which was opposed to us, he also removed it from our midst

Now we know that what the law says is addressed to those under the law, so that every mouth may be silenced and the whole world stand accountable to God, since no human being will be justified in his sight by observing the law; for through the law comes consciousness of sin.
But now the righteousness of God has been manifested apart from the law, though testified to by the law and the prophets, the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe.
New American Bible. (2011). (Revised Edition., Ro 3:19–22). Washington, DC: The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops.
You only have freedom if you embrace the Kingdom of God, for you are a subject of that Kingdom. If you reject the Kingdom of God by rejecting Christ then you are, by default, a subject of the world whose monarch is the prince of darkness. There is no middle ground.
Imagine it this way, a great tyrant has taken over your country and you see an ocean liner acting as lifeboat to the free world. The crew is inviting many to escape the horrors that are coming their way. If you get on the lifeboat, you are subject to all the rules and regulations of the new country, but they lead to a freedom you can no longer find in your native land. Do you choose to board the lifeboat or do you stay? If you stay, you will live under the tyranny approaching that has overtaken your beloved homeland. The choice and the consequences are yours.
Jesus’ death and resurrection frees us from every element of the authority of the principalities and powers. Indeed, the name Satan means “enemy” who uses the law against us. He becomes the accuser who cites every jot and tittle that condemns us. We are citizens of the Kingdom of Heaven, however, it is our Father, in the Son with the Holy Spirit who is our judge under those laws and He is a forgiving and loving judge for those who are citizens of His kingdom.
If we choose to be the Catholics Christ calls us to be, even as repentant sinners, we fall under the mercy of God for we are His subjects. If, however, we embraced the world and the principalities and powers, then we are not God’s subjects and do not enjoy the rights and privileges of a citizen of the Kingdom of God. We fall under every letter of the law with no recourse for mercy.
The choice is ours, if we choose to be citizens of the Kingdom of God, and act upon the choice in the way we live our life, then it is our role in union with the Holy Spirit to lead others into the divine citizenship and free them from the tyranny of the devil. Whether they respond is, as is always the case, in accords with their free will. We help them make an informed choice. So they understand not only what is at stake, but the way to freedom.
