Seeking God’s face must be a continuous act in our lives.

Seeking the face of the Lord is an opportunity given to us every day. We can not think of perfect situations to do this, because every moment is the time to seek the face of the Lord. Not only in the sanctuary or at the time of Mass, but in front of every act of the Christian’s life.

The Psalms are an interesting example of what our quest for God must be. It is difficult to read a Psalm and not identify, for they are expressions of man, his longings, his praise and repentance to God.

David is undoubtedly the best known psalmist, and it is interesting that many of his Psalms were composed in the midst of affliction.

Like any human being, David lived moments when he lost his way, feeling bewildered, estranged, and desperate for the presence of the Lord. Who does not go through this? Who does not go through moments when he misses, loses the ground, the target, loses the north and the goal? At that moment, David sets the example for us, because, even bewildered, he sought the face of the Lord.

When we lose the reference in God, three things settle in our lives: fear, cowardice and discouragement. Perhaps today, you are bewildered, indulged in vice and sin, being confused and unworthy, but this is the day of seeking the face of the Lord. He wants to help you find the north, change your life, and it all begins with the search for the face of the Lord.

When we begin to tread this path, withdrawing fear, cowardice and discouragement, we are filled with hope, courage and courage and valor. Genuine transformation in the life of man only happens in intimacy with God.

The Lord only comes into our lives when invited. Have you invited Him into your life? How long have you been looking for the face of Him? Let us decide today to seek the face of the Lord, for problems and times when we lose direction may occur, but we must know where to seek our north.

We live in expectation that heaven is ours!

The meditated Word is in Romans 8:18-25
“I consider that the sufferings of this present time are as nothing compared with the glory to be revealed for us.n
For creation awaits with eager expectation the revelation of the children of God;
for creation was made subject to futility, not of its own accord but because of the one who subjected it,o in hope
that creation itself would be set free from slavery to corruption and share in the glorious freedom of the children of God.p
We know that all creation is groaning in labor pains even until now;
and not only that, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, we also groan within ourselves as we wait for adoption, the redemption of our bodies.
For in hope we were saved. Now hope that sees for itself is not hope. For who hopes for what one sees?
But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait with endurance.

At the beginning of the Christian Church already there was talk about the second coming of Jesus, as he had ascended to heaven.

From time to time, there are many prophets who announce the final coming of the Lord. We have no doubt that the founder of Canção Nova, Monsignor Jonas Abib, is speaking prophetically, when he announced to us and convened us for the return of Christ. The certainty is that if He does not come to us first, we’re going to go to Him.

It’s time for us to reveal ourselves as children of God, as children of the light. St. Paul, in his words, was preparing a community for the coming of Jesus. Today, we are also prepared for this second coming.

What reasons make us suffer? Emotional, family or diseases? This word is for us, because it comes to us in our sufferings. Paul says: “I think that the sufferings of the present time have no proportion to the glory that shall be revealed in us.” Whatever our suffering – which cannot be measured – let us not falter, but let us persevere in the Lord.

You must be in keeping with the Canção Nova in these recent times. As we have suffered. We’re doing a siege of Jericho for the health and recovery of our seminarian William, victim of the van accident that involved some members of the community and led to the death of one of our brothers. Our hearts cry, suffer, but we believe in heaven!

From time to time, we are tested, but we must not be discouraged. Let us persevere! In the situations that we live, we reveal ourselves as children of God.

The creation has been groaning in us. Canção Nova has passed those in labor. God’s children have suffered, but it is necessary for us to reveal ourselves His children. Let’s return to this characteristic.

This waiting for our encounter with the Lord, what is our participation in this process? Taking up and revealing ourselves as sons and daughters of God.

The third person of the Holy Trinity is in us and want us to keep ourselves holy. Having a radical change is not an impossible mission, as the first fruits of the Holy Spirit are in us. It is possible to be Saints!

As a mother who is eagerly waiting the birth of her son, within us there is an expectation to reveal ourselves as children of God.

Are We channeling our faith? The man makes himself do projects, but the God makes them happen. What we have dreamed? What are our projects? Our faith and hope are in our projects.

All built on Canção Nova done by Mgr Jonas was moved by hope. He entrusted to God his designs and God brought them forth.

In all the plans we make, our first priority is Heaven. We are sure that if He don’t come, we’re going to meet him. This meeting will happen one way or another.

Heaven is part of our plans. We hope Heaven and work for him. We reveal ourselves as children of God and everything on our side is going to change, because nature is waiting to see our demonstration.

The classic scene of young people spinning t-shirts at #PHN ended the morning of Sunday activities

On the last day of the #PHN2016, Retreat at Rincon of the Cachoeira Paulista, SP, Brazil center of Canção Nova, thousands of young people who participated in this camp spun their t- shirts, symbolizing the closing of activities. The scene took place after the missionary preaching Dunga, entitled “you don’t despise a contrite heart” (PS. 50.5). The action achieved the classic and much-anticipated scene where the pilgrims turn and darting up t-shirts with your contacts written on it, such as phone number and address onj social media. The goal is that young people get the shirts and get in touch through the address in it, thus starting a new friendship.

Participating for the sixth time, Juliano Piano, 26-year-old from São Paulo realizde that through this time he built a great friendship, in which they pray for each other; even for those they have met to know personally but maintain contact through social networks. “It’s a very great emotion because of the contacts that we have created, by the interaction and above all by the friendship created from that moment of spinning the shirt” said the pilgrim.

God doesn’t want only praise with the lips, but with the heart

“I want Mercy, not sacrifice” is quoted in today’s Gospel.

Look at the Old Testament, for centuries there was lived, a great drama: God had to prepare his people for the coming of Jesus, but as he made covenants, there came a time when the Old Testament was no longer able to move forward, because there was a big crisis, which was noted by the prophets. God made all the law, a series of laws that the people were looking for, but the problem was that these people obey the law, but the heart wasn’t there. The people praised  God with the lips, but they were far from God.

God wants the worship the heart, God wants to love

God proclaims through the Prophet Hosea, He doesn’t want sacrifice, but the worship from the heart, what comes out from within. God wants love. The people took the sacrifices to the temple, but God wanted a contrite heart, repentant. Until, finally, one of the prophets, Ezekiel, makes a prophecy and told how God would solve the problem: “I will give you a new heart.” Humanly, it is impossible, unless you do a heart transplant! Jesus, then, gives us a new commandment: “love one another as I have loved you.” What he wants is to be the heart that loves within us.

To be Saints we need to kill the old man within us

This is the way of Holiness. Being holy is not a morality. But what is our mission for us to be Saints? We have to let the old man die within us so that Christ may resurrect. It is the mystery of Easter!

Steps to sainthood

We need to understand the following: when we are in a State of grace, which is sincere repentance and confession, the challenge is the next day, that is, keep this grace. But how is Christ going to take his place inside of us? How will this heart transplant happen? The first thing we need to know, according to St Paul, is: “the Gospel is the power of God”.

The just live by faith

We all need more faith, because it needs to grow in us. If we ask, God will give us the faith, but we need to insist on this request. If we’re in a State of grace, we need only contact  Jesus and He will be the strength to live with love.

In our spiritual life, we need to confess and receive communion, communion and confession. If we do this often, this practice will be God’s power to transform our hearts.

By faith we will have knowledge of the love of God for us

The Gospel is God’s force for those who believe. And how do we know God loves us? Only by faith.

Why do we have difficulties showing love? Because you can only receive love if you have faith; and I’m talking about human faith right now. For example: my mother loves me, but love is invisible, I don’t see it; What I see are acts. Through these actions, I see love. My brother, if you do not believe in other people, you’re going to die without love, because it is impossible to receive love without an act of faith. Either you believe or you receive love.

This is a human truth, and if it’s a human truth, it is also a divine truth, because you receive the love of God, you have to have faith, have to look for the light of Christ and see the love.

Give a different answer to the love of God for you

We’re going to approach the altar of God, today, in a different way. Let’s look at the blood of Christ and say: “I believe in that love”. Jesus is present in Blood, and is shed for you. What are you going to answer him?

My brothers, I repeat: “I want Mercy, not sacrifice.” Jesus help us to offer this worship of God. Amen.

Live the PHN is a sure path to holiness

o-phn-e-um-estilo-de-vida-rumo-a-santidade

The powerful did wonders for me.” Often, Mary sang this truth. Can you imagine with what gratitude she sang that? That God, who is holy and Almighty, has done wonders for me! All I’m worth, it is because the Lord did  wonders for me.

The Carmelite Order spread all over the world, a wonderful way, a strict rule of deep prayer, in which the Carmelites could not have contact with the world; There is a grid the separating us. Why? For these women can be taken fully to God. They intercede for the world. Prayers do not stop, but spread throughout humanity. The Lord dwells in Mount Carmel and in each carmelite; and the sisters know that, so they have a great respect for the order to which they obey. They know that God dwells in Carmel.

Today is the day of our Lady of Mount Carmel, and the liturgy acknowledges that God dwelt in Mary. There in Nazareth, in a cave that exists, lived Mary. There came the Angel and had that conversation with her: “Behold the handmaid of the Lord, let it be done to me his word“. The word became flesh and dwelt within. That child was only one cell inhabited by the Holy Spirit; It was Mary that generated, it was with her blood, with her flesh, so the liturgy chose this passage.

After nine months, was born the Savior, and the rest we know. It is a great grace for us! We have the Gospel, and according to him, Jesus was talking with people and his mother was outside, because there was no chance they can come close to Jesus. Then, they said, “look, your mother and your brothers are out there and want to talk to you“. Jesus answered: “Who is my mother?Who are my brothers? “.At first glance, it seems that he was neglecting His Mother. Our brothers think so too and they say that Mary wasn’t anything, because Jesus said so. But, in the continuation of the text, He says: “Behold my mother and my brothers, for whoever does the will of my father which is in heaven, this is my brother, my sister and my mother”. So, Mary was more than Mom, because no one did the Father’s will as she did.

Every Jew wanted to be mother, or the mother of the Messiah. If she not could be a mother, grandmother, that the Messiah were in their lineage. Every woman wanted this, and Mary, at that time, should jump for joy saying: “I am the one!”. But no! What she said was: “Behold the handmaid of the Lord, let it be done to me according to his will”. Are you there, my brothers, the beauty! She is an example for us.

The first thing in our life, is doing the will of God. Say it with me: “the first thing in my life is doing, in all, the will of God, doing his will. This is the most important thing. “

Do the will of God

The first thing that needs to be done, to be in the will of God is to live in a State of grace. The PHN seeks just that. Why do PHN? “For today I will not sin”. Not to Sin today, tomorrow or later, we must be constantly in a State of grace. It has been said that: If you’re not in a State of grace, go to the confession.

Don Bosco was on the top floor of his congregation and heard their children downstairs and said: “my children, no one gets out of this retreat in sin. If you have any sin in your life, confess. “Don Bosco did this to the priests of his congregation because they wanted his priests to live the PHN and were always in a State of grace.

PHN is towards holiness

This is the will of God, our sanctification. Boyfriends and girlfriends must sanctify each other. When either the State of grace, sanctify each other. You groom, bride, husband and wife consecrate themselves, and this is the will of God.

You avoid the impurity, they each learn to possess his body and honestly, without getting carried away by the licentious passions like the heathen who do not know God. What a beauty! We will live this truth, my dear young people.

Fetch a priest and wash your soul in confession. A sanctification with out of a life of sexual debauchery. Don’t take “time”, saying that they are doing a “little thing” that you love each other.Actually, that’s not love.

I could do a whole lecture about what love is and what is not love, to prove that sex is not love.Although many boyfriends say, “honey, let’s make love?”, that’s not love, but indiscipline, is leaving the rails of grace and entering the track of doom. You go off the rails of the heavens and go onto the tracks from hell, so I speak with all the strength that I can talk to my 80 years.

Young people testify to chastity

These days, I passed by the television was on and talking about sex before marriage, because of the soap opera scene in which explicit sex appeared. The part I saw, were two young people who testify to chastity. They were so persuasive, that the public would look at them with admiration beautiful and not with strangeness. There was, next to them, a person who heard this  beautiful testimony and said he was Evangelical in childhood, but in Church, not taught about sex, and he learned nothing about chastity. He praised those youths who were witnessing to the beauty of chastity.

"Meus filhos, todos vocês precisam ser Jovens Sarados, porque a falta de castidade faz estrago na vida da pessoa, tira-a do caminho da santidade e a joga no caminho da perdição." Monsenhor Jonas Abib. Foto: Wesley Almeida/cancaonova.com

“My sons and daugthers, all you need to be healed young people , because the lack of chastity does damage in a person’s life, takes her from the path of Holiness and puts her on the road to perdition.” Monsignor Jonas Abib.Photo: Yamin/cancaonova.com

There was a time when I got carried away and the heart of father jumped strong because a guest of the programme said: “the father Edmilson Lopez teaches us”. The two young men were of the group Jovens Sarados [Healed Youth], so living in chastity. My heart fluttered, because of that. But television always puts both sides of the coin.

Soon after, he moved to the lady that had the mom next door, and the mother said: “I am against this, I do not accept that young people have sexual intercourse only in marriage, because it might not work. She was speaking about this lie, and the mother delivered over her daughter when she spoke a few words, because it was so obvious that she didn’t live the chastity, but had sex while dating.

I stayed with the program through the break, because the doctrine of her mother put on the wrong track. The mother was putting the child in the arms of her boyfriend and saying: “My daughter can experience sex, because it might not work out”.

My kids, all you need to beJovens Sarados (Healed Youth], because the lack of chastity does damage in a person’s life, takes her from the path of Holiness and the plays on the road to perdition.

I wrote the book ‘ PHN ‘ Generation the importance of this meaning: I will not sin today. As hard as it is, I cling to the walls, but not for today.

A girl would testify that, every time the car stopped in front of her house, they used to make out for she was on fire. But then [after learing PHN] Every time she and her boyfriend stopped the car in front of the House, she opened the car door to live the PHN. Nature is nature, our hormones work; so, every time she realized that the fire began, she opened the car door to be faithful to the PHN.

Chastity is not everything in a person’s life, but is necessary for a life in holiness. If your boyfriend didn’t live the chastity in dating, he is not going to live it in marriage, because the man is more dashing. Don’t fall into the trap of her boyfriend! If he asks you to prove your love, say no! It is father Jonas telling you to get out.

Dearly beloved, we are rushing the coming of Our Lord Jesus Christ. Our sanctity of life will hasten the coming of the Lord. So, fight for Holiness and purity. Live the PHN as motto of life.

When we are living a bohemian life, we have to stop our agitation to hear God

Acalme a agitação, caia em si

Emanuel Joshua preaches on the PHN 2016.Photo: Yamin/cancaonova.com

We young people like to be rebels, but we were disoriented. As St. Paul says in Tt -4 3.3: “Because we too were once foolish, rebels, led astray, slaves of passions of every kind, living in malice and envy, hateful, hating one another. But one day turned up the goodness of God our Savior and his love for men.

In Luke, Jesus tells the three parables of mercy and shows us how God loves us so much. In the parable of the prodigal son, Jesus shows us that we are children of God, loved by him and for him. As much as I have been through so many situations and sufferings, we have to convince ourselves that we are children of God.

On our journey, we see that the son asks the father for his part of the inheritance. That attitude is a cry for independence and freedom. The father gives his son’s inheritance, and with this he goes away. But why did that father left his son go? Why does God let us do what we want? The Lord allows that to happen, because He knows how to take good from evil, and uses evil as matter of salvation.

That young man, left for a faraway place, forgot God. He wanted to stay away from the Father. When we sin, we’re also forgetting the Lord. We choose what we want, and we don’t want any more of our Father’s House. In the middle of the mess, we don’t remember him, until hunger arrives.

That young man, just as we do sometimes spent everything and squandered it all. He lived a life unbridled, looking for happiness, but only found pleasure, and pleasure passes. So, we have to dominate ourselves, setting limits to for self-control.

After this, there was a deep famine in the region and he started to experience need. And whatever else that was freedom turned into slavery. The famine was away from the House of the father, but the more we move away from the His House, the more we stay close to the difficulties.

The one who left home stopped serving with his father, only in the end to have to serve his sins. Feeding the pigs is living this unbridled life and serving sin. Pleasure does not feed us and we not are satisfied; We end up envying the sins before we convert, but it is up to each of us to decide if we will turn from sin to an experience or stay in them to a disappointment.

Calm down to separate us from sin

We have to calm down, because, if we keep in agitation, we will never be able to separate ourselves from sin. In the world today, everything is noise; We’re afraid to stop and listen to God. At this time, you need to be calm and quiet.

Acalme a agitação, caia em si

“Calm down to separate us from sin.” Photo: Yamin/cancaonova.com

When we calmed him down, we can see that we are not so close to sin. We’re dirty, yes, but we see that it is not impossible to break free with the help of Jesus.

God, out of love for us and for mercy, comes to us and saves us. Not out of our merit, but out of  love. The Lord causes us to return to him. Come around, stop and calm down. Start living the purification, so let’s have a party and meet with God to experience the happiness that never passes. You need to calm down, cease all agitation. Get back to God, because the best place in the world where He is.
